Hi. I'm a Joomla 3.0 newcomer trying to install the free IceTheme. On trying to install the template package I'm receiving the same error as two other posters to this forum.

When trying to upload and install the template package as a zip file I get following error messages:

Warning
JInstaller: :Install: File does not exist /home/mshall99/public_html/joomla/tmp/install_516be75b44fd8/img
Message
Error installing template

If I separately upload the package and unzip to a temporary directory (....\tmp\ice) I get the following error message:

Warning
JInstaller: :Install: File does not exist /home/mshall99/public_html/joomla/tmp/ice/img
Message
Error installing template

In both cases, the error seems to refer to an "img" directory that is not present in the original "tpl_ice_future.zip" package.

I'm using Joomla! 3.0.3 and the "IT_Future_V.3.0.0-(unzip-first)-9544626154.zip" version of the template.

This thread has also been very helpful to me. I almost gave up on installing the Ice Theme IT Future template and plugins due to these errors. Then I found this thread and simply opened the templateDetails.xml file with Notepad++ and deleted and/or corrected the errors.
In addition to the errors the user Michael mentions I also found an error with a folder named <folder>less</folder> that the installation was asking for. I deleted that entry in the templateDetails.xml file also and then the installation was a success :)

Did some digging. Since the installation seemed to fail looking for a particular directory I started trawling through likely control files that might be pointing to a non-existent directory. Stumbled across the "templateDetails.xml" that appears to describe the contents of the template package. The supplied file seems to have (at least) three errors in it.

I uploaded the template zip file to my server, unpacked it to a temporary directory and then made several corrections to the file:

In the <files> section I deleted a reference to a <folder>img</folder> that does not exist in the template zip file.
In the <files> section I corrected a reference from <folder>langauge</folder> to <folder>languages</folder>, to match the directory name in the template zip file.
In the <languages> section I also updated the directory reference to point to <languages folder="languages">, to match the directory name in the template zip file.

After these changes I was able to install the theme cleanly from the temporary folder on my server without error messages. I've attached a copy of the modified "templateDetails.xml" to this post.

I'm still a newcomer to Joomla and have yet to learn how to use the theme I've just installed - but at least I've gotten past that first step!

Thanks for creating this theme and making it freely available. I hope this helps others.

Hi - this thread has been very useful to me because I got the same error, and I was convinced I'd done something wrong in the steps I'd used to set up my site! (I am also new to Joomla).

When is the updated install going to be available? I would prefer to use that than apply the patches to a local version...

    Hey Michael,
I also changed the templatedetails.xml file but upon installing there are other problems. For example if you go to Extensions > Template Manager > click the Ice Future Template and click "Options". All of the template's options are displayed wrong. Also, the whole background should be a different color and there should be an icetheme logo (upon installation) on the frontend... I also tried creating the less & img's (and changed language to languages) folders with an index.html file in them but that rendered the same results... Let me know if you find a solution!

To add to the problems, when I was about finished with building my website it all went wrong... the website would just be blank when viewed with Chrome, and on Firefox and IE it would return a Internal Server Error 500... Unfortunately I was unable to fix the problem, let alone figure out what it was, so I had no other choice but to choose a template from another source :(

Sorry for the confusion! The template has been updated so please uninstall it(if you have installed) and install again through Joomla administrator.

I have solved the problem....its a simple one

I think the main issue is people trying to install the tpl_ice_future.zip which is made for Joomla 3.0 into Joomla 2.5.
Once I updated the Joomla form 2.5 to 3.2 everything started working.

The problem is installing template meant for Joomla Version 3+ on Version 2.5

Update and the problem is solved

Joomla will not let you update to 3.x unless you activate the option within the Joomla! Update component (administrator >> Component >> Joomla! Update >> Options >> Update server >> Short Term Support). If for some reason you’ve changed this, and you’d like the updater to stop letting you upgrade, change the setting to Long Term Support. After making this change, you’ll only receive updates for Joomla 2.5.

Notice: You should not upgrade from Joomla 2.5 to Joomla 3.x unless you are certain that all of your additionally installed extensions (from third party developers), especially templates, are Joomla 3.x ready or have a Joomla 3.x version that you can upgrade to.

But we might still have to do the following

Once you unzip tpl_ice_future.zip Open templateDetails.xml and delete the following

    File: deleted <folder>img</folder>
    File: deleted <folder>less</folder>

    <filename>component.php</filename>
    <filename>favicon.ico</filename>
    <filename>index.php</filename>
    <filename>templateDetails.xml</filename>
    <filename>template_preview.png</filename>
    <filename>template_thumbnail.png</filename>
    <folder>css</folder>
    <folder>html</folder>
    <folder>images</folder>
    <folder>img</folder>
    <folder>js</folder>
    <folder>language</folder>
    <folder>less</folder>

    I hope this helps

    Hi Brunilda,

I have read your post from April 2013 and I went to that link that you posted.
    It is the same warning:

    Warning
JInstaller: :Install: File does not exist /home3/.../public_html/tmp/install_53153a3da9762/img

I have the same problem as Luis has. There is a way to fix that?

    Thnak you,

    You`re welcome @Roxana!

    Enjoy it!

For all the other users, tpl_it_future.zip file was updated successfully!
Also the template IT Future has been updated from some js conflicts. In order to update your templates you have just to get the file template_it_future/index.php file from All in One package and replace to your own.

Always Backup your original file in cases you have made changes to it.

    Thanks!
